So the last 6 or 7 months was my hardcore weight loss time; we've now shifted into "get ourselves out of debt ASAP" time. Our goal is to get out of consumer debt by January 2013 (we'll still have student loans...ugh.) Andrew got a new job with great pay and benefits, and I have been working 20 hours a week (for the last few weeks) in the morning at a nursing facility doing housekeeping and laundry (while my wonderful parents watch the kids). Lots of gross stories, but I'll save those for another time. I've also been hired to do another personal history book, which is my favorite thing to do. Much more fun than collecting "soiled" laundry, I've found. The history has got me thinking about my own memoir again, and I decided to finish off a chapter I had almost finished last year or whenever that was.
So...this chapter does not leave off from where I was as a child. It's just what I wanted to write about next -- some about my angsty self in high school. Hope you like it! It's only had a light edit, and the formatting isn't perfect yet or anything, but here it is.
"An Enigma Exposed" (click on the title) -- Update: I temporarily removed the link to the chapter earlier today, but now it's back with an updated chapter.
In case you missed the first installments, here they are.

Liked reading the update of your good and busy life. Loved reading the memoir too. Always knew you didn't like Burke and am trying to remember if I heard you refer to it as a prison at the time. You wrote about people not knowing you were funny in high school, but we knew it at church!
Thanks, Jenny! It's strange writing all out of order chronologically, but I'll definitely write about my experiences at church -- and it will probably be before this chapter. Our ward was definitely a home away from home for me growing up. :)
I had read the essays you wrote as a teenager and loved them - but reading them again (nestled in your accompanying narrative), I have to say - they are GENIUS! And I' not saying that just because I'm your mom. It's true. Thanks for these memories, enjoyed anew. Mom
I can't believe I'm related to someone who is going to be a famous writer someday. I relish your writing--it is so honest, observant, and insightful. I went through so many emotions reading this, I feel drained now. I felt I was right there with you. Please write more! Love the title, too. I think I am going to read Snowball to my kids for Halloween tonight--in the dark, by candelight...
Um.."unknown" was me, Angie. :)
This was great. I especially liked the last one where you trick us about whether you are at a graduation or funeral. Good stuff. I want to read more. SO much more! I feel like I know you, how funny you are, but also serious and thoughtful but your past is still in bits and pieces for me. Can't wait for more!
The kiss...nuff said.
